We still have many open spots!
On the night of His Last Supper, Jesus shared the gift of the Holy Eucharist and prepared His disciples for the immense trial to come. After supper, He withdrew to the Garden of Gethsemane, where He prayed to the Father for strength. In that sacred moment, He invited His closest friends to stay with Him, to watch and pray:
“My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch.”
(Mark 14:34)
Each year on Maundy Thursday, we honor this moment by processing the Blessed Sacrament from the altar to a place of solemn rest — the Altar of Repose — set apart in a quiet, sacred space. This mirrors the journey to Gethsemane, where Jesus waited in deep prayer before His arrest.
For centuries, Christians have kept watch through the night, remembering Christ’s anguish and unwavering love. We invite you to take part in this ancient tradition by committing to an hour of prayer and reflection at the Altar of Repose.
