Benjamin Thomas invites you to worship Sunday in-person or at homeDear Friends, The early church came together across previously unimaginable social and political boundaries in the name of Jesus for mutual support, encouragement, and to grow in the knowledge and love of God. We welcome you to attend our in person worship at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. We sincerely hope that people will feel comfortable and safe returning to in-person worship. Even so, some will not feel safe or face a greater risk, and so we will provide a Zoom link and Facebook live stream to the in-person worship as a way of keeping our community together in worship. This has been a long journey that is not quite at its end, but I am hopeful, along with the Vestry, that we will be able to travel this last stage together with a renewed sense of hope and purpose in our mission to share the love of God with all the world. I know you will continue to develop as a diocese in the ways God intends. As for me, I leave with great thanks for all the ways you have supported me through these years. You are a wonderful group. The most recent data regarding Covid-19 cases is posted below. The numbers are increasingly worse. This chart shows the total cases by county and the number of cases in the last four weeks. I thank Jo Glasser for continuing to provide Covid-19 county by county. In this chart she includes the parishes in their respective counties. Take care and may God bless you always! With my love and best wishes I remain, Your brother in Christ, Musical Offerings Wanted!
It has been wonderful to see many of your faces during our weekly Zoom worship. I certainly miss singing together at the Cathedral, but we can still share our musical gifts with one another! During the month of August, we are looking for musical offerings from the congregation! Would you or a loved one be willing to sing or play something? Perhaps your children would like to sing a short song, or maybe you play an instrument and would be willing to share that gift. It doesn't have to be fancy, just short and sweet (2 minutes or less). Simply record something on your phone or device and share it via Dropbox, Google Drive, or email. You can contact me at: This email address is being protected from spambots. Stay well and God bless, Great news about our Diocese!Dear Sister and Brother Clergy, For the first time in at least 25 years, the Diocese does not have any church buildings standing vacant because of abandonment or closing of a congregation, no property is For Sale or waiting to be sold, there are no outstanding Land Contract Notes Receivable, and the quarter million dollars borrowed from Endowments to pay Operating Expenses some years ago has all been repaid. As an added bonus, Buffington Trust just doubled the number of 4-plexes it owns from 2 to 4 with the purchase of 2 additional buildings in Altoona in July as it refocuses its ministry to better serve its target population. We are now out of the banking and Real Estate business, are debt free, and can focus exclusively on the ministry of the Diocese. Peace. Bob Weathers Musical Offerings
