News

Last month the Vestry approved support of the Eau Claire Warming Center being housed in the basement of the 502 S. Farwell building. Ken Van Es and Mike Carlson represent Christ Church Cathedral on this committee.

This committee was formed due to the overflow of homeless being turned away from the Sojourner House and having no warm place to stay. The committee has raised funds to support CCC in heating and utilities for the building during the winter months.

The basement will be used as a warming shelter during the overnight hours and will be staffed by qualified, trained volunteers during open hours (8 pm - 8 am). You can find more information about this program at this web site: www.ecwarmingcenter.com. You will also find a link for volunteers on this website. The center began operations on Sunday, December 15th. They have served 3-6 people per night open. Please sign up to volunteer for an evening. It cannot open without the necessary volunteers.

Singing Rooster CoffeeRight before the pandemic hit, we purchased our regular order of Singing Rooster Coffee, Fair Trade coffee grown in Haiti. Since we are currently not having coffee hour, we would like to make it available to you to purchase. The sales have been going so well that we now only have ground decaf remaining. The cost is $10.00 for a 12 ounce bag.

We will continue to support this organization and look forward to a day when we can once again enjoy coffee hour, physically together, safely!

All proceeds will be donated to The Haiti Project.

You can still order a paver and have it placed in the courtyard this spring!! Due to the
weather, we were
unable to get the pavers placed last fall….but there is GOOD NEWS!!
You can still order a paver(s) now
and see it in place in just a couple of months.
The deadline to order is April 1.

What is Christ Church Cathedral’s Legacy?

IT’S YOU!!!!

  • If you haven’t already purchased a paver, please consider one now! Buy one for yourself or your family. We NEED you because without you, our story is not complete!

  • If you have already purchased one, please consider adding another for an
    anniversary, a new
grandchild, in remembrance of a loved one.
    The list is endless.

  • We also have an “adopt a paver” program. Consider remembering someone
who is no longer with us, but was a very special part of the Cathedral family,
    i.e. Les Crandall, Betty Onstead….

  • The courtyard looks amazing, let’s add meaning by filling the legacy walk with pavers!

  • 4X8 1@$150.00ea/2@$125.00ea/3@$100.00ea...so, the more you buy,
    the cheaper they get! ...
    or...12X12 granite $400.00...or...16X16 granite $600.00

  • If you need a form, please contact the office and we will get one to you ASAP or click the link below. 715.834.3734

Dear Parish Family,

We need volunteers to sign up to lead Children's Church for the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month (the 2nd & 5th Sundays are already covered). The weekly bulletins, leader's lesson guide, and poster are all printed and ready in the Sunday school room.

Supporting our children with age appropriate instruction is part of our duty to "go and make disciples". Volunteer today so we can get started on fulfilling the "Safe Church" requirements of the Episcopal Church for volunteers working with children.   Please contact the office to get the process started - This email address is being protected from spambots. Continuing this Sunday, at 6 p.m. CST, and for each Sunday until we can return to full attendance at our churches, The Ven. Jo Glasser and Dn. Marlene Hogue will be leading Evening Prayer. This service should last about 20 minutes and is intended to supplement, not replace, your Sunday morning time with your rector or priest in charge. Instead of the Sunday Lectionary readings, he will draw upon the daily office readings. In the Zoom system's video there is a chat button. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the Gospel or the sermon. You will need to have a Book of Common Prayer with you to follow the service.
